Privacy policy
This is a translation of the Italian text. If the two differ, the Italian version prevails.
Sagoma Home is an app for drawing the floor plan of a home, seeing it in 3D and furnishing it. It works on phones, computers and in the browser, at app.sagomahome.com. Here we explain what personal data we process when you use the sagomahome.com website and the app, why we do it, how long we keep it and what your rights are, as required by Articles 13 and 14 of the EU Regulation 2016/679 (the "GDPR").
- Your projects stay on your device. We only receive them when you decide to send them: to ask a professional for a quote or to have a shop furnish your home.
- Sagoma Home is free: there are no payments, so we process no payment data.
- We do not sell data, show ads or use profiling cookies.
- You do not need an account to draw and furnish. For the account an email is enough, with no password, and you can delete it from the app whenever you like.
Who the controller is
The controller is Marco Di Spena, a private individual who runs Sagoma Home. "Sagoma Home" is the name of the service.
For any question about privacy, write to [email protected].
We have not appointed a data protection officer (DPO), because it is not mandatory for an activity like ours.
What data we process and why
Visits to the website
- Data: IP address, type of browser and device, page requested, date and time.
- Why: to run the website, protect it from attacks and abuse, and count visits in aggregate form.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Who processes it: Cloudflare, which hosts the website. For statistics we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not follow people from one website to another: we only see overall numbers, such as page views, countries and device types. The same statistics also count visits to the app in the browser, app.sagomahome.com.
- The website's fonts are hosted on the website itself: no visitor data goes to Google Fonts or anyone else.
If you write to us
- Data: your email address, your name if you write it, the message and any attachments.
- Why: to reply to you.
- Legal basis: your requests before or while using the service (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in replying (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Who processes it: the [email protected] mailbox is on Zoho Mail, with the data in a data centre in the European Union.
- How long: up to 24 months after the last message.
Using the app
- Your projects (plans, furniture, colours, notes, floor plans and photos loaded as a background, client details written in the project) are saved only on your device: in the phone's or computer's storage, or in the browser's storage if you use app.sagomahome.com. We do not receive or see them.
- The catalogue of furniture, materials and manufacturers' real furniture is downloaded from our catalogo.sagomahome.com server, on Cloudflare. As with the website, the server sees the IP address and what is downloaded, only to send it to you.
- The device code: the app creates a random code that contains neither your name nor any phone data. We use it for limits against abuse (for example how many requests can be sent in a day) and to find the requests you have sent.
- The app has no ads, uses no analytics or tracking tools from other companies and does not ask for access to contacts, location or microphone. You choose or take photos and images yourself, one by one, and they stay in the project on your device.
- The app counts a few steps anonymously, such as opening it or drawing the first room: see the usage counters.
- If you download the app from Google Play (and in future from the App Store), the store processes the download data under its own rules. Google shows us app error (crash) reports, which contain neither your name nor your projects, only if you have agreed to share them in your phone's settings.
- Legal basis: performance of the service you ask for (Article 6(1)(b)) and, for limits against abuse, our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
Coming features and survey
Some features, such as reading floor plans with AI or realistic renders, are not active yet. In their place the app shows "Coming soon" and asks whether they would be useful to you. People on the free trial as a professional or company are also asked about the work features.
- Data: the feature, your answer (yes, maybe or no), how much you would pay, if you choose a price range, the comment and the email, if you leave them, the app language, the type of device (phone, computer or browser) and a fingerprint of the device code (not the code itself).
- The comment and the email are optional. If you are logged in with your account, the email is already filled in, but you can change or remove it. In the comment, do not write personal data that is not needed.
- For each device we keep only one answer per feature: if you answer again, it replaces the previous one.
- We do not store the IP address. For the daily limit we count answers with a fingerprint of the day and the IP, which is deleted the next day.
- Why: to understand which features are needed and what they are worth before switching them on. We use the email only to reply to you or to let you know when the feature arrives. The fingerprint of the device code is used only to keep one answer per device and for limits against abuse.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the service (Article 6(1)(f)). For the email, your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by writing it and can withdraw at any time by writing to us.
- Who processes it: our server, on Cloudflare.
- How long: 24 months.
Answering is not an order or a booking. Before switching on floor plan reading with AI we will update this policy.
Account
- Data: email address, language, creation date, version of the terms and of this policy you accepted, plan (for example the free trial for professionals), devices you logged in from (with their random code) and date of last login.
- To log in we email you a 6-digit code. We never store codes and access keys in clear: only a fingerprint of them (hash).
- Why: to let you log in from your devices and give you the services for professionals, shops and manufacturers.
- Legal basis: the contract with you, that is these terms of use (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Who processes it: our server on Cloudflare; emails are sent with Resend.
- How long: as long as you keep the account. A login not used for 400 days expires on its own. If you delete the account (Account → "Delete account") we delete it immediately, together with the verification data and open logins.
Verification of professionals
The "Verified" badge, the free trial for professionals and shops and the manufacturers' page are only for verified professionals and companies.
- Data you give us: if you are on a professional register, name, tax code, order or association, province, registration number and PEC (certified email); if you are a company, company name, VAT number, business activity, province and PEC.
- Data we check: we compare them with public registers, INI-PEC (the Italian national list of PEC addresses of professionals and companies) and the Business Register, and we send a code to the PEC address listed there. We note how we verified you, for example "Order of Architects of Milan no. 12345, checked on 2 November". The check is done by a person, not a program.
- Why: to give the "Verified" badge and the services for companies only to those who really are professionals or companies in the sector, as a guarantee for everyone who uses Sagoma Home.
- Legal basis: the contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in the credibility of the platform (Article 6(1)(f)).
- How long: as long as you keep the account. If the verification fails we keep the request with the reason, so you can correct it. Everything is deleted with the account.
Contact a professional
- Data of the private user: what you need, the city of the home (never the address), when you want to start, budget and notes if you write them, the floor plan of the home in IFC format (walls, rooms, doors and windows, without furniture) with the square metres of the rooms, your name and, if you wish, your email and phone number.
- Do not write health data or other sensitive data in the notes: they are not needed for a quote.
- Who receives them: only the professionals you choose, up to three. In their list they only see city, type of work and square metres; they see your name and contact details when they open the request. If there is nobody in your area yet, the request goes to Sagoma Home, which forwards it to a professional in the area; the app tells you this before you send it.
- When a professional receives your request, they use your data as an independent controller, to reply and give you a quote, under their own privacy policy.
- Data of the professional: name, type of business, city, area where they work, services offered, how they were verified, contact details they give us and their replies, with attached floor plans.
- Why: to put people looking for a professional in touch with those who work in their area.
- Legal basis: performing the service you ask for, that is putting you in touch with professionals (Article 6(1)(b)).
- How long: requests, floor plans, contact details and replies are deleted automatically after 120 days. You can withdraw the request earlier, and it disappears immediately for the professionals too.
- Email notifications: if you leave your email, we let you know when a reply arrives. The emails contain no floor plans or contact details: they only tell you to open the app.
Have a shop furnish it
- Data of the private user: the home as a Sagoma Home project (walls, rooms, doors, windows, colours and, if you want, the furniture you have already placed; never background floor plans or room photos), the city, the rooms to furnish, the style, the furniture, colours and materials you want, the budget, if you write it, the notes, your name and, if you want, email and phone.
- Who it goes to: only to the verified shop you choose. If there is no shop in your area yet, the request reaches Sagoma Home, which passes it on to a shop in the area; the app tells you before you send it.
- Data of the shop: its proposals, that is your home furnished with catalogue furniture, a couple of lines of explanation and, if it wants, an indicative price.
- The shop uses your data as an independent controller, only to prepare the proposal and reply to you.
- Why, legal basis and duration: as for "Contact a professional" (section 2.7). Requests and proposals are deleted automatically after 120 days, or earlier if you withdraw the request. The proposal you open in the app stays as a project on your device.
Directory and public profile of professionals
- Verified professionals and shops have a public profile, visible in the app and on a web page that search engines such as Google can find.
- Data: name, trade, city and area of work, how they were verified, an introduction, the contacts they choose (phone, email, website, address) and up to 10 completed jobs, with title, city, year, description and photos.
- Where it comes from: the professional writes it. If we added them to the directory ourselves, the first data (name, trade, city, verification) comes from them or from public registers (professional register, INI-PEC, Business Register). We tell them when we send them the code to log in, and they can ask us to remove them at any time.
- Why: to introduce professionals and shops to private users in their area.
- Legal basis: the contract with the professional (Article 6(1)(b)) and, before they join, our legitimate interest in building a directory of verified professionals (Article 6(1)(f)).
- How long: the profile is visible from the moment the professional is verified. They can hide it at any time from the app, and change or remove texts, contacts, jobs and photos. If they hide the profile or leave the directory, the web page disappears; search engines may still show a copy for some time. The photos are stored on our server, on Cloudflare.
Manufacturers' furniture
- Verified companies can put their furniture in the app's catalogue, under "Real furniture", from a web page with the same account.
- Data: the account email, the company data used for verification (section 2.6), the brand, the website, the furniture uploaded (3D model, dimensions, photos, link to the product page, description), when you accepted the declaration on rights and the outcome of our checks, with the reason if a piece is not accepted.
- Why: to show the furniture in the app with the brand and the link to the manufacturer's website.
- Legal basis: the contract with the company (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Who processes it: our server and our storage, on Cloudflare; emails are sent with Resend.
- How long: as long as the company keeps the account. A piece removed from the catalogue, or belonging to a deleted account, can no longer be chosen, but its files stay in the catalogue so that projects already using it can still draw it.
Emails we send you
We only write to you about the service: login codes, outcome of the verification and of the furniture checks, notices about requests, replies and proposals, notices about the free trial and important changes to the terms. We do not send newsletters or advertising; if one day we do, it will only be with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Anonymous usage counters
To understand whether Sagoma Home is really useful and where people stop, the app counts a few steps anonymously: opening the app, coming back on another day, the choice between the guide and drawing at first start, and the first time you use a feature (for example the first room drawn, the 3D view, the first piece of furniture).
- Data: the name of the step, the app language, the type of device (phone, computer or browser) and, only at the first opening, where you came from: the website or social network from which you opened the app, if the address or the browser shows it. No device code, no projects, no name or email.
- The server only keeps daily totals, for example "today 12 openings and 5 first rooms": it does not know who did what. The app remembers on your device what has already been counted, so each step is counted only once (opening once a day).
- We do not store the IP address. For the daily limit against fake submissions we count submissions with a fingerprint of the day and the IP, which is deleted the next day.
- Why: to know how many people use the app and which parts need improving.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the service (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Who processes it: our server, on Cloudflare.
- How long: daily totals, 24 months.
Who we entrust data to
To run Sagoma Home we use some providers, who process data on our behalf and only according to our instructions (processors, Article 28 GDPR):
| Provider | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | hosts the website, browser app, catalogue and servers; cookie-free statistics | United States and worldwide network |
| Resend | sends the app's emails (codes, notices) | United States |
| Zoho | [email protected] mailbox | European Union |
Others process data as independent controllers, with their own policies: Google for Google Play, Apple for the App Store, and the professionals and shops you send a request to.
We do not sell or transfer data to others. We disclose it to authorities only if the law requires it.
Data outside the European Union
Some providers are in the United States. Transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for companies that adhere to it, or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission (Articles 45 and 46 GDPR). You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards by writing to [email protected].
How long we keep data, in short
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Projects | on your device, until you delete them |
| Answers to the survey on coming features | 24 months |
| App usage counters (daily totals only) | 24 months |
| Account and verification | until you delete it; unused logins expire after 400 days |
| Requests to professionals and shops, replies and proposals | 120 days, or less if you withdraw them |
| Public profile and job photos | until the professional removes them or leaves the directory |
| Manufacturers' furniture | as long as the company keeps the account; files of furniture already used in projects stay in the catalogue |
| Emails exchanged with us | up to 24 months after the last message |
We may keep some data longer only if needed to defend ourselves in a dispute or if the law requires it.
How we protect data
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Codes and access keys are stored only as fingerprints. We collect only the data we need: for example the city and not the address, the floor plan without furniture. A lot of data is deleted automatically when it expires. The admin panel is protected by a key and locks out anyone who gets it wrong too many times.
Automated decisions
We do not take decisions about you solely by automated means. The verification of professionals and the check of manufacturers' furniture are done by a person.
Minors
Sagoma Home is not designed for children. To create an account you must be at least 14 years old; under 14, a parent's consent is needed.
Your rights
At any time you can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy (access, Article 15);
- correct it (rectification, Article 16);
- delete it (Article 17): you can also delete your account yourself, from the app;
- restrict its use (Article 18);
- receive it in a machine-readable format (portability, Article 20): you can already export your projects yourself, as a .sagoma, IFC, DXF, PDF or image file;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Article 21);
- withdraw any consent you have given, without affecting what was done before.
Write to [email protected] from the email address of your account. We will reply within one month. If you believe we are processing your data incorrectly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the EU country where you live.
Cookies
The website and the browser app use no profiling cookies and no third-party advertising cookies. All the details are in the cookie policy.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If the change is important, for example when we switch on floor plan reading with AI or paid features, we tell you in the app or by email before it applies, and the account keeps track of the version you accepted.
